We stayed here twice , once leaving for our holiday and then on return this was a fantastic place , the staff were brill especailly jade the new girl we found her very friendly and very hard working , the beer was cheap food was ok , theview was fantastic and a very good location , would stay here everytime we loved it A1 .

From the taxi collection at the Airport to our check out everything went smoothly. The hotel motto is "we are family" and it certainly felt like it. The roof terrace is an amazing place to relax especially in the evening when it is lit up like a Christmas tree. All the staff were extremely helpful and seemed genuinely interested in our plans.

We came from Cambodia by bus and we were pleasantly surprised that our drop off point was really near the hotel. we just walked. The hotel is also near the war remnants museum ( bit of a walk but okay if you want to see the street life) and the behn tahn market.

We booked the cheapest room but we got upgraded. the room we got was reasonably big, with our own ref. there was also free snacks and water. the most memorable thing about the hotel is the staff. From the moment that we entered the hotel (which was really late, around 11 pm) all the staff members had genuine smiles on their faces. Everyone was so willing to help us be more comfortable. The rooftop bar is also nice, and their drinks were reasonably priced, with cocktails 50% off between 6-8pm. The only thing that i dont like is that we heard the bar noise from our room (seventh floor), but it's really a minor issue and it didn't affect our sleep. I would say that overall, this is the best option in Buy Vien District 1.

We were greeted very warmly by all hotel staff whenever we left or returned, in the restaurant, the bellboys, receptionists, and tour people located in the basement. This hotel has a rooftop bar and restaurant which is just outstanding. Fabulous views over Saigon, at 8 storeys it is one of the taller buildings. Our first room was the VIP room on the 7th floor, which we had booked over the internet, but although the room was lovely, unfortunately noise from the restaurant above meant we had little sleep so we requested a room change, to a lesser standard of room, but which was perfectly quiet at night. This was on the 4th floor at the back of the hotel. Hotel staff were very accommodating in our request for a room change.
Breakfast is buffet style and the range and quality of food is excellent.
Hotel has a lift and aircon. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

My girlfriend and I took a night bus from Sihanoukville and our cab from the bus station dropped us off near the backpackers area so we could find an internet cafe and do research on a good place to stay near where we were. The door staff outside were VERY helpful in pointing us to the right direction even though we weren't they're guests. We decided to stay once we saw the good reviews and couldnt have been happier. We got a very nice room for 25 (they first offered us a room for 38 and we said that was way to expensive). Great location and helpful, friendly staff. Definitely would recommend!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is situated in the heart of district 1. The staff was very friendly, rooms without the window, but we wouldn't mind. The breakfast selection was good and the bar on the roof was amazing. The price of the beer was the same as in any restaurant. If you fancy any trip to delta Mekong, there was a travel agency downstairs in the basement. The bui vien street is a great place to eat. Just opposite the hotel there is a restaurant with vietnamese food which was absolutely outstanding.

We had originally booked another hotel in Ho Chi Minh but we arrived and it was so gross so we turned up here and we got the loveliest welcome! The staff are so nice and helpful. Our room was nice and clean and the wifi was good. Yummy breakfast and the roof top bar is really cool and cheap for drinks! Would deff advise staying here

I flew into Ho Chi Minh City from England and this was were I stayed my first night there. I had a limited budget and hoped to stay in the guesthouse across the road, it was full and they sent me across the road. I was so pleased they did, this hotel is slightly more expensive but had good amenities and the staff are more than welcoming, friendly and helpful! It has a really cool rooftop bar and restaurant that looks over the city, it's really good value for money and would recommend it!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay for two nights!

- Very good location. The hotel is situated in a very touristic street. But you can easily reach the important sights.

- Rooms: We had a small room with only a very small window which was okay as the room was very cheap.

- Roofterasse is great!

- Very helpful and friendly staff!

Stayed March 2013, traveled as a couple

Chose this hotel based on the great reviews and attentive comments of the owner. It didn't disappoint. Great location, friendly staff and gorgeous rooftop terrace. On arriving from Australia we asked where we could buy adapters. Without flinching a staff member offered to buy us two for $2 and deliver them to the room. Staff provide helpful tips and maps for confused travellers! Will definitely stay there again on the way home.

Stayed May 2013, traveled with friends

I recently stayed here for one night, and then left for a week while traveling. I informed the staff that I would come back after one week, on the same day that was also my 27th birthday. At the time I also mentioned I would be alone, due to some flight issues. When I returned after one week, alone, not only did the staff remember it was my birthday, they greeted me with a gorgeous cake with my name on it! It was so so sweet. They also told me to be at the roof top bar and restaurant where they planned to have a party. In addition, they secretly upgraded my room with no extra charge. Everyone was so nice and really made me feel like family. I had a great evening because of the way people treated me and I really recommend anyone who is looking for this price range hotel to stay here. They have a slogan, which is really true: "we are family."

Stayed May 2013, traveled solo

I spent 3 months in this wonderful hotel in 2012 at the beginning of the year & another week in September. I enjoyed my time there very much - the staff are incredible - nothing was too much trouble - very friendly & helpful - just like family which is how they billed themselves & they lived up to that very well. They were undertaking some renovations to some rooms in September, so I guess it is even better now. I am hoping the new mattresses are not quite as hard!
The rooftop terrace is a great place to relax, cool off in the evening, have a meal or a drink with friends & meet some new ones. The computer room was great - a cup of tea appeared at my elbow whenever I sat there! The free bananas were also a nice touch.
Every member of staff contributed to a great stay in HCMC. I am returning for 10 days in April this year.

This being our first trip to Vietnam we stayed at Hotel Duc Vuong over New Year, 2012. The motto, "We are Family" are just not words but believed by each and every staff member. The service from the moment you arrive is second to none. This is a 2 star hotel with 5 star service. On the completion of our Vietnam holiday we did stay in a 5 star hotel on the river. There was not one ounce of atmosphere, something I wish we could have finished on. We had such a wonderful stay that we are going back again this year, taking our adult family with us.

We stayed three nights at this hotel in Dec 2011. From the outset, the staff were exceedingly welcoming and very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is older, it is very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Everything worked. A highlight of the place is the roof-top bar and lounge area, where the exceedingly good new-year's eve function was held. If you are in HCMC on a new year, head to this place! I would happily stay at the hotel again should I ever return to HCMC.
